Jan 24, 2008 ... Residents living in this isolated part of Subang Jaya want LRT line

Tagged:

Looking at the re routing of the LRT line for Subang Jaya which was unanimously accepted by all JKP zone 1 members at a recent meeting held to debate on the draft local plan 2020 for the township, they too have my endorsement as something that I can agree with  when I first saw it, but I have other reservations when I looked at it again.

RESIDENTS of SS14 Subang Jaya said at a gathering on Saturday that they do not want the LRT to cut into their neighbourhood.

I am glad to hear that the people are speaking in favour of what they want.

However, I believe that it is the responsibility of our leaders to present us with all available options.

LRT: Proposal to Transport Minister dated 15th September 2006

NST, Jan 15, 2008 ... LRT EXTENSIONS: Far too many holes in proposed plan

Tagged:

I think we all agreed that the extension of the Putra line from Kelana Jaya to Subang Jaya and the Star line from Bukit Jalil to Puchong will ease traffic in this area. When both extension were announced by the Federal Government last year I had immediately held consultations with residents on the best route to Subang Jaya.

Star, Aug 10, 2007 ... No LRT stops at three busy spots

Subang Jaya residents with the help of their assemblyman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng came up with their proposed route and halts for the extended Putra LRT line into Subang Jaya. However, news is that Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (SPNB) has ignored some of the proposed halts and is going ahead with their own route instead. StarMetro finds out.

Star, Jun 27, 2007 ... LRT services the way to go

I REFER to the letter by Moaz Yusuf Ahmad of Subang Jaya on the question of whether “Subang LRT link a viable option” which appeared in StarMetro on June 7.

Moaz mentioned that it would be better to concentrate on the existing bus system and shelters before spending money on the LRT project and the technical problems of building the LRT line over the Kewajipan Roundabout.

Star, Jun 7, 2007 ... Is the Subang LRT link a viable option?

Tagged:

I disagree with him that spending monies on LRT is a waste of funds.  We can see from proven examples in the big cities of the world that train services (LRT & MRT) is the best method of moving people.  It does not use the existing roads and does not have to stop for traffic lights.  Any modern city that does not have such train services will face traffic congestion.  After all the introduction of Rapid KL buses have not eased the traffic congestion.  I am sure En Moaz’s view does not represent the majority of residents in Subang Jaya.

NST, Jun 7, 2007 ... Joint LRT project proposed

KUALA LANGAT: It’s a joint venture between the federal and state governments to expand the light rail transit service in Selangor.

The state government will provide land for train stations and tracks while the federal government will finance the proposed RM12 billion expanded LRT system.

Jun 1, 2007 ... Q&A: Bicycle Tracks to LRT Stations

Tagged:

The LRT route story that came up in the Star was based on my proposal after discussion with RA's.  It is not sure where the actual routes will run. Bicycle tracks is a good idea.  I think MPSJ and me got to facilitate once the location at LRT stations are confirmed.
