SOMETHING MISSING IN MPSJ LINE UP OF NEW COUNCILLORS

NOW, RESIDENTS KNOW, WHO ARE THEIR NEW COUNCILLORS IN MPSJ, WITH THE ANNOUNCEMENT IN THE NEWSPAPERS TODAY (2/7).

It has to be a good one after all it took 3 months for MPSJ to decide.

However, among those chosen councillors, there is one person whose reputation is questionable.

This guy had been rejected by the Rakyat (people) before, for having lost, that is, defeated in two general elections some years ago.

How he got selected is not surprising, despite his background and poor

showing. Maybe he is an old guard in DAP.

Tell us! Is it true that each and every new councillor for MPSJ

had been actually screened for bankruptcy and for criminal cases, before they are officially appointed as councillors and not just a lip service? If it is not the case, then, MPSJ should check it out to see whether there is anybody in the team who is a bankrupt otherwise, any wrong appointment will smear the good image of MPSJ and other councillors.

Perhaps, there is someone who might be a bankrupt, amongst the line-up of new councillors in MPSJ.

Looking at what goes on as a whole, PR and MPSJ had taken for granted the demands and expectations of Subang Jaya residents for using the township as a dump site for rejects.

Obviously, in the eyes of the public at large, this is a letdown and a disappointment.

As such, PR (Pakatan Rakyat) is not walking the talk by their actions.

Well, don't forget that they had made open overtures and pledges at the election campaigns that they will be fair and just when choosing councillors, should they win in the general election.

They had also promised to see that eventually all councillors shall be elected into office by the Rakyat and not by appointments from political parties, hopefully, beginning 2009.

Now, anybody can straightaway tell that PR did not keep to their words and promises (a part of the bargain of sort) from the way they chose and appointed the councilors in Selangor unfortunately most of them are party members.

In actual fact, all political parties should make it public by announcing the names of their members who have been appointed councillors in Subang Jaya to show transparency and accountability of the selections.

Because, when it comes to voting to pass a bill or an item at a full board meeting, they (the councillors from political parties) have the say, thus, making other councillors puppets.

This is not what the Rakyat want in the council.

If they had kept their promises, there should be a fair number of councillors chosen from NGOs and Community Association Groups, instead.

ACTUALLY, ON SECOND THOUGHTS IF YOU TAKE A CLOSER LOOK AT THE LIST OF NEW COUNCILLORS APPOINTED FOR MPSJ, YOU CAN'T SEE ANYONE FROM NGOs OR FROM COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION GROUPS, such as The Subang Jaya Residents'

Association and The Consumer Association of Subang Jaya and USJ.

By right there should not be any representatives from JKP to be appointed councillor postings in MPSJ as Jawatan Kuasa Penduduk (JKP) is an officially "organ" or anak of MPSJ and that they all work under the MPSJ's "umbrella" to service the residents in Subang Jaya, let alone with MPSJ fundings.

So, they are (all JKP zones) NOT registered with the Registration of Society (ROS) and that means they are a "GOVERNMENT ORGANISATION and,

therefore, it is NOT an NGO, as a branch of MPSJ. As a result of

the set up, all members of JKP are NOT NGO representatives.

Similarly, a housing apartment committee is NOT an NGO too as it is ONLY confined to dwellers of a particular block of apartment, flat or condominium in Subang Jaya or USJ so it is exclusively a private entity.

And since it does not OPEN its door to all residents living in Subang Jaya and USJ their members are also NOT from an NGO.

How come PR and MPSJ had made such a blunder when choosing the applicants as MPSJ councillors?

This is outrageous and really a disappointment to Subang Jaya and USJ residents by and large.

Besides from what had taken place, by putting someone who barely knows Subang Jaya or had done nothing in the township before or perhaps knowing something just on the surface does not auger well - let alone, there are numerous stumbling blocks to take care of.

For your information, there are many elite and affluent residents living in Subang Jaya and that they have high demands and expectations from councillors.

Furthermore, it's inappropriate to appoint someone as a councillor merely base on his or her academic qualifications and office work experiences.

Objectively, to be a good, clean, caring, helpful and efficient councillor, he or she should have the passion to be one and has the aspirations and inspiration to find solutions to help solve problems for the residents as well as looking out for new things to attend to, without fear and favour.

Ideally, a councillor should be on stand-by at all times to take calls from the residents and to attend to the problem at the quickest

possible time. So, he or she should give priority for the job as

this is not a voluntary posting, it's a full time job.

We expect all councilors are tolerant, patience, resourceful, productive and people friendly - so they should not brush off any resident who seeks help from them.

Exactly, Subang Jaya residents will not take no for an answer neither do they accept any excuses for failures (non performances).

There you go! Getting started on the job right away is a sure

thing because Subang Jaya is not a playground or a school for councillors to learn or to "gamble" with their luck to get rich - of course, not working with a personal agenda or doing things by trial and error, a sort of.

Over and above, the residents will constantly monitor each and every councillor's performances in the next six months, to check and balance and that they should report everything they do with transparency and accountability to the residents from time to time.

Well, yes! We are counting on you guys and gals chosen as MPSJ

councillors. So, don't let us down.

Lau Bing President, CASJ, pro tem committee

Dear Lau Bing,
Are you commenting as Lau Bing the rep of CASJ or Lau Bing the sore loser ?
Couching your lowdown political comments in the cloak of a consumers association while purporting to speak as a rep of the consumers of Subang Jaya speaks volumes about your integrity or the lack of it, does it not?
You say .....
"It has to be a good one after all it took 3 months for MPSJ to decide."
> Yep much more time than it took Lee Hwa Beng to use up RM 400k + of the rakyat’s money.

You say .........
"However, among those chosen councillors, there is one person whose reputation is questionable.
This guy had been rejected by the Rakyat (people) before, for having lost, that is, defeated in two general elections some years ago.
How he got selected is not surprising, despite his background and poor showing. Maybe he is an old guard in DAP."
> Praise the Lord. I am glad that the truth has finally sunk in, Lau Bing. It is a new world order that you see now Lau Bing. Get used to it and cut the moralising crap.
In any case, can you tell Lee Hwa Beng and his running matey Ong that they were REJECTED, DEFEATED and BOOTED OUT of Subang Jaya in the most shameful manner and by your prescriptions should refrain from standing for elections in these parts ever again. Further by the same token, they have forfeited the right to preach to the new ADUN and MP cos they are confirmed failures, as per your definition.

Lau Bing,
Of all the crap you dished out in your post the most disgusting was that you moan that CASJ was not represented in the council.
So it was pure greed for position then ..... nothing else.
You are a protem for crying out loud. Your group was born just in time for the GE. And you have the cheek to demand to be recognised as an NGO deserving of representation in the council ? Your group is a Johnny-come-lately.
What the hell is going thru your cranial cavity Lau Bing ?
If you have nothing intelligent to contribute, dishing out garbage is not an acceptable alternative.
Have you heard of the dog in the manger.
You creeps from MCA had your chance and you blew it ............ now let the Pakatan chaps teach you vermins a thing or two about being transparent and clean.
